BIRSST – Brain Injury Regional School Support Teams
BIRSST (Brain Injury Regional School Support Teams)
BIRSST Teams are a support service of regional teams across Nebraska that provided through the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE). Through a grant provided by the State of Nebraska, staff in Educational Service Units (ESUs) receive yearly training on brain injury. School districts can receive consultation and training regarding education on concussion management; if a student sustains a head injury; and the impacts that concussion and head (brain) injury have of educational performance. Parents and caregivers can contact their area BIRSST Team contact to gain brain injury and concussion information.
